What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic Medicine in an age old approach to healing that is concerned with finding the root cause of your symptoms.  This style of healing has been around since the beginning of time.  From long ago, herbs and foods were mainly used.  Today, those are still considered, while more is included in the prescription given.  The prescription given by a Naturopathic Physician (ND) who is licensed as a primary care physician, might include herbs, teas and food adjustments along with a specifically designed nutritional program that could include vitamins, minerals and other nutraceuticals and even a pharmaceutical when absolutely necessary.  Other therapies might be assigned for you to do at home, like hydrotherapy or castor oil packs applied to the body in certain locations.  We can't forget about things like stress management techniques that can be done daily depending on your level of need.

As an ND, we include a thorough health history in our investigation.  We also take the time to talk to our patients, not rushing them in and out of our office.

If you have been looking for a different type of practitioner, then you might want to consider a visit to a Naturopathic Physician.
